Post Once

Repost from YouTube

Post Once picks up each new public video and Short on your YouTube channel and reposts it to your other accounts, at up to 1080p, with the video's description as the caption. Private and unlisted videos are skipped.

Connect YouTube

  1. Pick YouTube under Where do you post first? when you sign up, or press Connect as source next to YouTube on the Bridge page.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that owns your channel and allow access.
  3. You come back to Post Once, and it starts watching your channel for new uploads.

Post Once checks YouTube about every five minutes. Press Check now on the dashboard to look straight away. Only videos published after you connect are reposted on their own.

What Post Once picks up from YouTube

  • Shorts. They are vertical and up to 3 minutes, so they go to every destination that takes short videos, like Instagram, Facebook, Threads and X.
  • Videos. Videos over 3 minutes, or landscape ones, only go to destinations that take long videos. See long videos.

Private and unlisted videos are not picked up, and neither are community posts. YouTube has no Stories to repost.

How each repost is filled in

The video’s description goes with each repost as its caption. With no description, its title is used instead. The title also fills in where a destination needs one. X allows 280 characters, so a long description may be shortened there. See repost to X.

Each video is fetched at the best quality every destination accepts, up to 1080p. Long videos take a few minutes to fetch before they go out.

Because YouTube is your source, it is not offered as a destination in the same bridge.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my 4K video reposted at 1080p?

Post Once takes the best version that every destination accepts, and that tops out at 1080p. A 4K upload is reposted at 1080p.

Do I need a monetized or verified channel?

No. Any YouTube channel you can sign in to works as a source.

Can my channel be the source in one bridge and a destination in another?

Yes. Connect it as the source in one bridge and as a destination in the other. Videos Post Once uploads to your channel from the other bridge are passed on too, but never back to an account they are already on. See bridges.
