Repost from Instagram
Post Once picks up each new Reel, video, photo, carousel and Story from a professional Instagram account and reposts it to your other accounts. Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account, which you can switch to for free in the Instagram app.
Before you connect: switch to a professional account
Instagram only lets apps like Post Once read posts from professional accounts. If yours is a personal account, Post Once shows:
Post Once needs a professional Instagram account. In the Instagram app open Settings, tap “Account type and tools”, switch to a Business or Creator account, then connect again.
Switching is free and takes a minute. Your posts and followers stay as they are.
Connect Instagram
- Pick Instagram under Where do you post first? when you sign up, or press Connect as source next to Instagram on the Bridge page.
- Instagram’s sign-in page opens. If you have more than one account, choose the one you post on.
- Allow access and you come back to Post Once.
Post Once checks for new posts about every minute. Only posts published after you connect are reposted on their own. See connect your source account.
What Post Once picks up from Instagram
- Reels and videos. Reels over 3 minutes, or landscape videos, only go to destinations that take long videos. See long videos.
- Photos.
- Carousels. The photo slides are reposted. Video slides inside a carousel are left out.
- Stories, for destinations that have Repost Stories here switched on. See Stories.
The caption goes with each post. Its first line, up to 100 characters, becomes the title where a destination needs one, such as YouTube.
Trial reels
Trial reels are Reels Instagram shows to non-followers first. Post Once has a Repost trial reels switch on your Instagram source row:
- Off (the default): a trial reel waits until you share it with your followers, then reposts like a new post. Post Once checks for that every 30 minutes for up to 7 days. A trial reel never shared within 7 days is not reposted.
- On: trial reels repost right away.

Instagram does not mark trial reels in its API, so Post Once treats a Reel that is not shared to your feed as a trial reel.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Business account, or is Creator enough?
Either works for reposting from Instagram. Posting Stories to Instagram through Post Once is different, and needs a Business account on the receiving side.
Why did a Reel not repost?
Check the reason on the post in Your posts. One Instagram-specific case is licensed music. Instagram sometimes withholds the file for those Reels, and if Post Once cannot get it another way the post shows "Instagram did not provide the video file for this reel, usually because it uses licensed audio". Other reasons are in a post did not repost.
Are my reposts lower quality than the original?
Post Once fetches Reels at 1080p where Instagram makes that version available, and falls back to the 720p file Instagram's API provides.
