Post Once

Reconnect an account

When a platform stops letting Post Once use an account, its row on the Bridge page shows a Reconnect button and you get an email. Press Reconnect and sign in again. LinkedIn needs this every 60 days; other platforms only after a password change, a removed permission or a long gap.

Updated

How you can tell

  • The account’s row on the Bridge page shows Reconnect where its switch was, with “Lost access. Nothing posts here until you reconnect.” for a destination, or “Lost access. New posts are not picked up until you reconnect.” for your source.
  • If it is your source, the dashboard shows Reconnect with your handle and a Reconnect button for that platform in place of your posts.
  • Posts to that destination fail with “… stopped letting Post Once use this account. Reconnect it to carry on.”
  • You usually get an email, “Action needed: reconnect your … account”.

Reconnect

  1. Press Reconnect on the account’s row (or on the dashboard, for your source).
  2. Sign in on the platform’s page with the same account and allow access again.
  3. You come back to Post Once and the row turns active.

For Facebook, check that your Page is still ticked in the permissions dialog. For Instagram, the account must still be a Business or Creator account. See connection errors.

LinkedIn every 60 days

LinkedIn ends access after 60 days and does not let apps renew it. Five days before, you get an email and the LinkedIn row reads “Access ends … Reconnect before then to keep posting here.” Reconnect then and nothing is missed. See repost to LinkedIn.

Check a connection

To test an account without waiting for a post, open the three-dot menu on its row and choose Check connection. Post Once tells you whether it is connected or needs to be reconnected.

Frequently asked questions

Will the posts I made while it was disconnected be reposted?

Not on their own. When you reconnect a source account, Post Once carries on from that moment. Posts from the gap are listed under Your posts, where you can send them with Post now.

Why did an account lose access?

Usually a password change, a security check on the platform, Post Once's access removed in that platform's settings, or an access period that ended. LinkedIn access always ends after 60 days.

Can I check whether an account is still connected?

Yes. Open the three-dot menu on its row and choose Check connection.
