A post did not repost
Open the post under "Your posts" on the dashboard and read its status. "Not posted" and the skip reasons say why nothing went out, red text names the error after Post Once's automatic retries, and a countdown means it is waiting for a limit to reset. The most common fixes are reconnecting an account, picking a Facebook Page or freeing up storage.
Start on the dashboard. Find the post under Your posts and read the line under it. Hover the post to see each destination on its own.
The post is not in the list
- Post Once has not checked yet. It checks Instagram and X about every minute, and Threads and Facebook about every five. Press Check now to look straight away.
- It is text only. Posts need a video or photo.
- It is a reply or a repost of someone else’s post on X. Those are skipped.
- It is an Instagram trial reel. With Repost trial reels off, it waits until you share it with your followers. See repost from Instagram.
- It was posted before you connected, or while the account needed reconnecting. Those posts are listed but not sent on their own. Use Post now.
- Your bridge is paused. Turn on Active on the Bridge page.
“Not posted”
Nothing was sent, and the reason is shown:
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| Out of free reposts | Upgrade on the Billing page, then use Post now on the post. See the free plan. |
| No destination takes photos | Connect a destination that takes photos, such as Instagram or Facebook. YouTube does not. |
| No destination takes long videos | Connect YouTube, Facebook or LinkedIn. See long videos. |
| All destinations were paused | Turn a destination back on, then use Post to on the post. |
| Skipped as a repeat of an earlier post | Press Post anyway if you meant to post it again. See repeat posts. |
| Post Once reposts videos up to 2 hours long, or up to 4K | The video is over the limit. |
Skipped on one destination
A post can go out on most accounts and skip one. Skips are not failures. The reasons include “YouTube does not accept photos”, “X only takes short vertical videos”, “Destination was paused”, and length or size limits for that platform. A destination connected after the post was picked up is not added to that post. It gets your posts from then on.
Red text: it failed
Post Once tries each destination up to 5 times over about half an hour before it shows a failure. The red text is the reason. The common ones:
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
| … stopped letting Post Once use this account. Reconnect it to carry on. | Reconnect the account. |
| No Facebook Page chosen | Pick a Page in Post to Page on the Facebook row. |
| Facebook did not grant access to this Page | Reconnect Facebook and tick the Page in the permissions dialog. See connection errors. |
| Your Google Drive is full / Your Dropbox is full | Free up space or add storage with that provider. |
| Instagram did not provide the video file for this reel, usually because it uses licensed audio | Instagram withheld the file. Reels with original audio repost normally. |
Other messages come straight from the platform. If one does not make sense, email us with the post and the message.
A countdown
- Starts in …: many new posts arrived at once. This one waits its turn and nothing is dropped.
- Daily limit, retries in …: a destination reached its daily limit, for example 6 uploads a day on YouTube. It goes out on its own when the limit resets.
- Posts in …: you scheduled it with Post later.
Frequently asked questions
Does Post Once retry failed posts?
Yes, automatically. Each destination is tried up to 5 times, waiting longer each time, over about half an hour. Only then is it marked as failed and you get an email.
My post is not in Your posts at all. Why?
Post Once may not have checked yet, so press Check now. If it still does not appear, it may be a text-only post, a reply or repost on X, or an Instagram trial reel waiting to be shared with your followers.
Can I get a failed post sent again?
Fix the cause first, for example by reconnecting the account. If the post still needs to go out, email us with a link to it and we will look into it.
