Post Once

Back up to Google Drive

Connect Google Drive under "Back up to" on the Bridge page and Post Once saves each new post to a Post Once folder in your My Drive, sorted by account and month, with the caption in each file's description. Post Once can only see the files it creates there.

Connect Google Drive

  1. Open Bridge and press Connect next to Google Drive in the Back up to card. You can also pick it under Also back up to (optional) when you sign up.
  2. Sign in with the Google account you want to save to.
  3. On Google’s screen, leave the Google Drive box ticked and allow access.

If the box was unticked, Post Once says “Google Drive access was not granted. Connect again and leave the Google Drive box ticked on the Google screen.” Connect again and keep it ticked.

Where your posts go

Post Once makes a Post Once folder in your My Drive:

My Drive/
  Post Once/
    Instagram @yourhandle/
      2026-10 October/
        2026-10-12 Fifteen minute tomato pasta.mp4
        Stories/

Each file is named by date and the first words of its caption. The caption and a link to the original post are in the file’s description. Carousels get their own folder with the photos numbered in post order. More on the layout in back up every post.

Under the connected Google Drive row, Open folder opens the Post Once folder in Drive, and the Save switches choose which kinds of posts to keep: photos, short videos, long videos and Stories.

Storage

The files count against your own Google storage. Google gives every account 15 GB free across Drive, Gmail and Photos. Long videos fill it faster, so turn off Long videos under Save if space is tight.

Frequently asked questions

Can Post Once see my other Google Drive files?

No. It asks Google for access only to files it creates, so it can see the Post Once folder and nothing else in your Drive.

What happens when my Drive is full?

The backup fails with "Your Google Drive is full. Free up space or add storage in Google One, then retry this post." Your reposts to other accounts still go out.

Where is the caption?

In each file's Drive description, followed by a link to the original post. Open the file's details in Drive to read it.
