# Repost to Instagram

> Post Once posts each new video to Instagram as a Reel, and photos and carousels of up to 10 as feed posts, with the caption. It can also repost Stories when you switch that on. The Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account.

## Connect Instagram

Instagram only lets apps post to professional accounts. In the Instagram app, open Settings, tap **Account type and tools** and switch to a Business or Creator account first. Then:

1. Pick **Instagram** under **Where else should it land?** when you sign up, or press **Connect** next to Instagram on the Bridge page.
2. Sign in on Instagram's page. If you have several accounts, choose the one Post Once should post to.
3. Allow access and you come back to Post Once.

## What Instagram gets

- **Videos as Reels**: short vertical or square videos, from 3 seconds up to 3 minutes. Longer or landscape videos are skipped here with "Instagram only takes short vertical videos".
- **Photos and carousels**, up to 10 photos per post.
- **Stories**, only when **Repost Stories here** is switched on for Instagram on the Bridge page, and only from a Facebook Page source (an Instagram source cannot also be an Instagram destination). Stories need an Instagram Business account. See [Stories](https://postonce.com/help/stories).

## Caption

Your caption goes with the post, up to Instagram's 2,200 characters. Stories have no caption.

## Daily limit

Post Once sends at most 50 posts per Instagram account per day. Extra posts wait and go out once the limit resets.

### Why was my landscape video not posted to Instagram?

Post Once only sends short vertical or square videos to Instagram, up to 3 minutes. Longer or landscape videos go to YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn instead. See [long videos](https://postonce.com/help/long-videos).

### Why are there white bars on my photo?

Instagram only accepts photos between 4:5 (portrait) and 1.91:1 (landscape). Post Once pads photos outside that range so nothing is cropped.

### Can I repost from one Instagram account to another?

Not in the same bridge. The source's platform is not offered as a destination.
